ABOUT
Dem Days believes Nostalgia is an untapped resource for improving the care and well-being of older people.
Dem Days uses nostalgia to amuse, entertain and engage older people who face the challenges that come with ageing.
Dem Days also believes that in some situations, nostalgia, if applied and available in appropriate ways, could engage older people in the same way social media engages young people. For many older people, that would be a very helpful thing.
Generally speaking, older people face challenges that younger people can’t fully appreciate, that is until they experience what getting old actually feels like for themselves.
Among the challenges older people contend with, and especially those who live alone - are loneliness, isolation, boredom and mobility. That’s where Dem Days can help.
Whenever a group of ‘mature-aged’ people get together, it usually isn’t long before the conversation turns to talking about old times. Older people are generally very comfortable talking about all things nostalgic, and many love to reminisce about how things were ‘back then’.
Dem Days sets out to further meet this ‘comfort zone’ with resources that include sets of heart-warming and amusing Dem Days syndicated newspaper pages, a simple Dem Days Chat Group concept that anyone could adopt, and a feature-packed timeless and heart-warming coffee table book titled Good Company.
